Halifax Japan Karate Association A non-profit organization dedicated to further the art of Shotokan karate-do among students, faculty, and staff of Dalhousie University and King's College. The Halifax JKA has been operating on the Dalhousie and King's campuses for over 25 years now, and has been specifically adapted to meet the needs of Halifax's community. Halifax-JKA has an active membership from the local community and university with both adults and children enjoying the benefits our club has to offer. We provide a full range of classes for children, students, and adults, at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Our non-profit organization is run by volunteers interested in furthering Shotokan karate-do. This allows us to keep costs down, and offer discounted rates for both students and family memberships. Architecture Students Association The ASA is active in all academic committees in the School of Architecture. It organizes special academic occasions, including the annual lecture series and the annual StudioEast publication of design work by architecture students. The ASA also enables student reps to exercise skills in leadership, organization, and communication. The ASA is a member of the Canadian Architecture Students Association (CASA).
art exposure We promote local artists both on and off campus with a hope of expanding Dalhousie's artistic side.
Bathtub Group We help to raise funds, toiletries and awareness for Adsum House and Bryrony House (two Battered women's shelters in Halifax) during the week of November 20-24.
Biomedical Engineering We are a group of graduate students trying to promote Biomedical Engineering and socialize while pursuing our studies.
Black Student Advising Centre The Centre is committed to providing services to all students at Dalhousie University and the University of King's College and is particularly interested in the success of students of African descent.
